From Project to Home: Creative Workshop with Reused Materials
At the invitation of the FICA Fund, RUÍNA Architecture participated in the Muda Festival program with the workshop "From Project to Home: Creative Workshop with Reused Materials." The objective of the activity was to propose a minimal architectural intervention, making the most of available resources, to enable housing for 2 to 3 family units in a property located on Anhaia Street, in the Bom Retiro neighborhood in São Paulo - SP. The future residents are members of Empreendedoras Sin Fronteras, a group of women seamstresses, entrepreneurs, and immigrants whose workshop is based at Casa do Povo.
Participants were provided with a catalog previously produced by RUÍNA in partnership with the FICA Fund, containing various donated components such as workbenches, doors, lights, dishes, wooden pieces, glass, etc., to configure the new spaces of the property. The workshop challenged participants to work from a perspective other than the conventional one: it was necessary to first understand and assimilate what they had in hand before engaging in the design exercise as a solution to the demands.
At the end of the two-day workshop, a proposal for minimal construction/demolition was developed, with the reuse of debris for new finishes, as well as the incorporation of reused components from the catalog in almost every space.
The project adapts existing spaces for shared use (the property gains an additional bathroom, and the kitchen becomes the spatial centerpiece of the property, utilizing the original plumbing wall) and creates new environments (a living room/covered patio integrated with the reception area, increasing the total to 4 shared social-use spaces, in addition to an uncovered area with the possibility of creating a garden bed).

**Do Projeto ao Lar: oficina criativa com materiais de reuso**

A convite do Fundo FICA, a RUÍNA Arquitetura integrou a programação do Festival Muda com a Oficina “Do Projeto ao Lar: oficina criativa com materiais de reuso”. O objetivo da atividade foi propor uma intervenção arquitetônica mínima, com maior aproveitamento possível dos recursos, para viabilizar a moradia de 2 a 3 núcleos familiares no imóvel localizado na Rua Anhaia, no bairro do Bom Retiro em São Paulo - SP. As futuras moradoras são integrantes da Empreendedoras Sin Fronteras, formada por mulheres costureiras, empreendedoras e imigrantes, cujo ateliê está sediado na Casa do Povo. 

Foi disponibilizado aos participantes um catálogo produzido previamente pela RUÍNA em parceria com o Fundo Fica, com diversos componentes doados como bancadas, portas, luminárias, louças, peças de madeira, vidros, etc para a partir deles os novos espaços do imóvel serem configurados. A oficina provocou os participantes a trabalhar a partir de uma outra perspectiva que não a convencional: foi necessário compreender e assimilar primeiro o que se tinha em mãos, para então partir para o exercício projetual como solução das demandas. 

Ao final dos dois dias de oficina, chegou-se em uma proposta de mínima construção/demolição, com reaproveitamento do entulho para novos acabamentos, bem como a inserção dos componentes de reuso disponíveis no catálogo em praticamente todos os ambientes. 

O projeto adequa os ambientes existentes para o uso compartilhado (o imóvel ganha mais um banheiro e a cozinha passa a assumir a centralidade espacial do imóvel, aproveitando a parede hidráulica original) e cria novos ambientes (sala/quintal coberto integrado com a ante sala, aumentando para 4 o total de ambientes de uso social compartilhado, além de uma área descoberta com possibilidade de criação de canteiro para horta).
